Undoubtfully, Feb 24 is the most special day of my Albertan artist life. I was invited to attend the Budget Day at Alberta Legislative Building. After the budget meeting, I was invited to meet the Minister of Culture Orr’s office and have a good conversation with him and his team members.

Visiting AFA & Viewing Thousands of Pieces Of Alberta Art Collections

In early March, Art Branch & Alberta Foundation For The Arts (AFA) arranged a private tour to visit the site and browse the thousands of pieces of the art collection for my 1st month of Alberta Artist In Residence (AIR). It is my 1st-time visiting the headquarters of the Alberta major public art funder!

So grateful that AFA & Art Branch are so supportive during my Alberta Artist In Residence and have been answering a number of my questions.

10 Alberta Old Buildings Paintings

Last Friday, I have just returned from Jasper for preparing my second painting, Jasper Information Center was built in 1913. It will be the second piece of the 10 Alberta Old Buildings paintings series. The 1st painting is Edmonton historical building, The Government House at Glenora which was built in 1913. I am looking forwards to sharing my 1st painting art journey in my next blog post.

Gladly, the Easter holidays are a perfect time for me to refresh my past 2 months’ journey. It has been so phenomenal and received so many local media and arts & culture sectors to support this project directly and indirectly!.

Starting next month, I will participate in 3 to 4 communities invitation across Alberta before the end of September Albert Artist In Residence.

For me, it is fundamental processing to learn how to balance the extraordinary journey and seek inner harmony to create the ideal painting that I love.
