Last November, I got an invitation to teach a parent group from the Meadowlark Christian School for a Christmas Art workshop. I have been preparing for this event for a few weeks on how to let never-painting parents be capable of completing a painting in less than 2 hours.
The art workshop’s painting title is Christmas Mountain Cabin. Because the Meadowlark Christian School’s parent groups mostly have never been painting, and they arrived when dropping off the kids. Therefore, the actual painting time is less than the original 2 hours. Therefore, I filmed a short video of my sketch to help them speed up the initial progress. Drawing the right proportions is critical for me and the students. Gladly, they understood the key element after my explanation.
With the help of the principal from the Meadowlark Christian School, my video was projected on the screen. I taught them how to mixed the colors (probably the hardest part for beginners), and we painted together.
